Nanna

In moving to Washington, one of the biggest adjustments for me has been being far away from my family. We are so close and I miss them dearly, and it's very difficult for me not to have them around as often as I wish they could be. So I'm always super excited for CA visitors! My mom came up this past weekend, leaving my dad at home to hold down the fort and take care of the dog... we missed you dad! We had the BEST time. We hit up the original Nordstroms (of course), had dinner with the Perry's, enjoyed a fabulous kid-free ladies brunch at Portage Bay, shopped, went to Bellevue Park, shopped some more, went to the Ballard Farmer's market, hit up Zeek's for some pizza goodness, and even squeezed in a craft project. It was a fabulous weekend! Doug and I even squeezed in a date night since we had an in-house babysitter :).

As soon as my mom arrived, Olivia looked at her and said "Nanna". She calls Doug's mom "Damma" (g's are still a bit difficult, I guess), so apparently she decided that my mom needed a different name. So Nanna it is! Too funny.

I realized this morning that I hadn't taken any photos over the course of the weekend, so here's a few from today...

My mom's suitcase is, of course, always packed with some goodies for O. This time she brought Dot Art Painters. They're so fun (and don't make a huge mess like normal paint does!).

Olivia LOVES having someone to visit in the guest room...

iPad snuggle time.

Thanks so much for visiting, mom! We miss you already!

P.S.
Olivia is currently obsessed with flowers. I planted these last week and she insists on going outside to visit and smell them multiple times a day. I'm pretty sure that we're all more than ready for spring...

Those paint dots look so cool! I think I'm going to look for some- mess paint is not my favorite :)
