Washington Week

Since Doug had last week off from work (and I am unemployed) we took advantage of the free time and headed up to Washington for a week of fun! We spent the first few days out at the Perry family cabin at Lake Wenatchee...

Doug checking out the view from the dock.
A beautiful sunset behind the glacier.
The next morning, we awoke to a perfectly glassy lake and a beautiful sunrise.
Hiking up "Dirty Face". (Confession: the altitude got to me and I didn't make it to the top! A big thanks to Chris for heading down the mountain with me :).

Doug and Wayne at the top of Dirty Face, overlooking the lake.
The funniest part about the cabin is that the Perry family has had it since the boys were young, and haven't been back there in a looong time. We made some pretty funny discoveries that were straight out of the 80's, including the "skurfer," on of the first wake boards created. Awesome.

We headed back to Seattle for the remainder of the week. And of course, we had to hit up some Mariners games.
Yeah Diamond Club!

Of course, Doug found time to ride a dirtbike during the week! His friend DJ has a track in his backyard.

Jaci and I hung out in the Rhino while the boys rode.

4th of July! After BBQing at the house, we took the boat out to Lake Union for the fireworks show.

Sounds like a great time. Lake Wenatchee is a great place to escape to - boating and fishing in the summer and skiing and snowmobiling in the winter.

The Perry family is lucky to have a place on the lake. As the lake has become more popular, lakefront homes have become more expensive and very few are even available for purchase.
